	Just the beginning..  On the exact date of August 1, 1914 a very big event happened. Large amounts of people circled around the plaza in Munich to celebrate the German proclamation of war. This was when Hitler knew he should do something. So, he volunteered for the German Army.

	And then.. Finally, Adolf Hitler really felt like he belonged here, standing up for Germany. He trained a hard two months, and millions of soldiers died in this war. His bravery showed when he was awarded two Iron Crosses for escaping death in a few of the battles. The new technologies did not make the war any easier for the soliders. Some of these technologies were tanks, planes, machine guns, and deadly gas. He went through a lot of physical pain during the war. He was wounded one time, and had to be sent to a Berlin hospital. He also was blinded by a gas attack in Belgium around October 1918.

	He never quit.. And, On November 10, 1918, was not such a good day. The Kaiser and the House of Hollenzollern had fallen, Germany was a republic, and the war was completely over. Though, Hitler decided to stay in the army, he was a propagandist in the reindoctination of the troops. Around two years later, the German Workers party took place, called the Nazi party. Hitler became chairman, where he made a paramilitary organization and gained support of nationalists as Field Marshal Ludendorff. Hitler really tried to get rid of the republican government and get their freedom back. Hitler was arrested on April 1, 1924 and was suppose to stay five years in the Landsberg fortress for using the army to defeat the coup. He wanted the troops to march on Berlin and end the Weimar Republic.  On December 20, 1924, he was released after only nine months. Without hesitation, he jumped right back on his feet and rebuilt his party. After the Reichstag election, they had got a huge popularity and were the second largest party in the Reichstag.
